TORONTO PHOTOGRAPHER SELECTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL EXHIBITION: September 23, 2023: photographer Dee Potter, has had 4 images selected as well as an Album of 5 more images for exhibition in a regional Salon celebrating the best of Canadian professional photography. Dee has won the prestigious Tibor Horvath Award at the Professional Photographers of Canada’s 2023 Eastern Regional competition; an exhibition celebrating the best of Canadian professional photography. This award is presented to an Ontario PPOC member who has not yet achieved their Craftsman or Master of the Photographic Arts and who has the highest score for four Accepted prints. A panel of master photographers judged the best works submitted by professional photographers from Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces as well as other parts of Canada and only accepted outstanding images into the 2023 Eastern Regional Image Salon of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC). The awards were announced this evening in a hybrid (online and in-person) ceremony. In addition to demonstrating the makers’ ability to create outstanding images for their clientele, inclusion into the salon earns the maker merits toward several designations offered to PPOC members, including the prestigious Craftsman of Photographic Arts and Master of Photographic Arts. The competition features entries from across Canada in 23 different classes, including commercial, portrait, fine art and wedding. “Photographers must show extraordinary talent to win an award among such illustrious company,” said Tina Weltz, MPA, SPA, Chair of the National Exhibition Committee. “We were thrilled to see so many inspiring entries in the competition this year.
