Top 10 World Photographic Cup Finalist for Team Canada
International landscape and travel photographer, Dee Potter, is a first-time finalist in The World Photographic Cup vying for the Gold Medal in Quito, Ecuador March 20, 2025. TORONTO PHOTOGRAPHER SELECTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL EXHIBITION
September 28, 2024: The Professional Photographers of Canada is delighted to announce that Toronto photographer Dee Potter has had 4 images selected for its annual regional Salon recognizing and celebrating the best of Canadian professional photography.
Dee's image 'Sunset on Mu Cang Chai' in the Pictorial/Floral class won the prestigious Best in Class Award at the Professional Photographers of Canada Eastern Regional 2024 annual competition and was also selected for a Judge's Choice ribbon.
The Professional Photographers of Canada 2024 Eastern Region Image Competition aims to recognize and celebrate exceptional talent in the field of photography, providing a platform for photographers to showcase their creativity and vision. With submissions spanning various genres and
themes, the competition highlights the diverse perspectives and artistic expressions of photographers from different cultures and backgrounds. The awards were announce this evening in an hybrid (online and in-person) ceremony.
The PPOC expresses gratitude to the esteemed panel of judges who dedicated their time and expertise to the meticulous evaluation of entries, ensuring a fair and rigorous selection process.

TORONTO PHOTOGRAPHER SELECTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL EXHIBITION
April 23, 2023: Photographer Dee Potter, has had all 4 of his submitted images selected for exhibition in a National Salon celebrating the best of Canadian professional photography.
Dee's image 'Sunrise at the Louvre' ranked Best in Class finalist and was selected for inclusion in the prestigious Professional Photographers of Canada’s 2023 Loan Collection; a national exhibition celebrating the best of Canadian professional photography.
A panel of master photographers judged the best works submitted by professional photographers from across Canada and accepted a selection of outstanding images for exhibition as the 2023 National Image Salon of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC). The salon was revealed on April 22, 2023, at Canadian Imaging, the annual conference of the PPOC held this year in Canmore, Alberta.
In addition to demonstrating the makers’ ability to create outstanding images for their clientele, inclusion into the salon earns the maker merits toward several designations offered to PPOC members, including the prestigious Craftsman of Photographic Arts and Master of Photographic Arts. The competition features entries from across Canada in 23 different classes, including commercial, portrait, fine art and wedding.
“Photographers must show extraordinary talent to win an award among such illustrious company,” said Tina Weltz, MPA, SPA, Chair of the National Exhibition Committee. “We were thrilled to see so many inspiring entries in the competition this year. The salon images clearly demonstrate the exceptional skill and quality that professionals bring to the medium of photography.”
