TORONTO PHOTOGRAPHER SELECTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL EXHIBITION

April 23, 2023: Photographer Dee Potter, has had all 4 of his submitted images selected for exhibition ina National Salon celebrating the best of Canadian professional photography.

Dee's image 'Sunrise at the Louvre' ranked Best in Class finalist and selected for inclusion in theprestigious Professional Photographers of Canada’s 2023 Loan Collection; a national exhibitioncelebrating the best of Canadian professional photography.

A panel of master photographers judged the best works submitted by professional photographers fromacross Canada and accepted a selection of outstanding images for exhibition as the 2023 National ImageSalon of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC). The salon was revealed on April 22, 2023, atCanadian Imaging, the annual conference of the PPOC held this year in Canmore, Alberta.

In addition to demonstrating the makers’ ability to create outstanding images for their clientele, inclusion intothe salon earns the maker merits toward several designations offered to PPOC members, including theprestigious Craftsman of Photographic Arts and Master of Photographic Arts. The competition featuresentries from across Canada in 23 different classes, including commercial, portrait, fine art and wedding.

“Photographers must show extraordinary talent to win an award among such illustrious company,” said TinaWeltz, MPA, SPA, Chair of the National Exhibition Committee. “We were thrilled to see so many inspiringentries in the competition this year. The salon images clearly demonstrate the exceptional skill and quality thatprofessionals bring to the medium of photography.”

The Professional Photographers of Canada is pleased to announce that:

Dee Potter

has just earned an accreditation in Pictorial / Scenic, at our Accreditation judging in Edmonton_Online.Accreditation is the first elevation above the general membership level, and is achieved by submitting samples of theapplicant’s photography to a PPOC Board of Review for Accreditation. Accreditation demonstrates that the photographer iscapable of delivering above average quality photography in a chosen category.In assessing Accreditation Submissions, the judges will consider the following criteria: Impact, Creativity, Style,Composition, Presentation, Color Balance, Centre of Interest, Lighting, Subject Matter, Image file quality, Technique andStorytelling.

Along with other service and print merits, a minimum of one Accreditation is required to qualify for a Craftsman ofPhotographic Arts and two accreditations are needed for a Master of Photographic Arts.
